Loretta Gonzalez is a Dallas based artist who makes paintings. Starting with a personal inspiration, and is often autobiographical. Gonzalez holds up a mirror to some of societies most difficult reoccurring subjects to confront, giving her audience an opportunity to discuss and remember what has been forgotten but not resolved. Gonzalez enjoys the process of research and uses true criminal cases when necessary.

Loretta Gonzalez Art explores emotional contrasts and challenges expectations. Gonzalez is inspired by her childhood, dreams, religion, Kawaii, and Pop Culture.

Gonzalez is an international artist and studied art at the University of Texas at Arlington. She has shown her work in Italy, Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Florida and Dallas over the past fifteen years.

Gonzalez philosophy is finding the pretty in the ugly. The use of soft colors and children in her work draw the viewer in for a closer look, then repels them with a message that is thought provoking and sometimes disturbing.
